RE: budweiser nitro start problems
[Hey hurleyfevr,
Hope you enjoy your boat, they are fun. I have started doing one thing that may help. I have a glow plug wrench. A "T" bar thing. This makes it quick and easy to loosen glow plug 1/2 turn before I start it, and once going tighten back. The whole world looks brighter this way. It easy to pull. If it is hot and I just come in for refill loosening is not necessary. The best time is if you flip and are trying to get it going again. Priming with fuel lowers water content, easy pulling makes it quick. Priming has helped me many times to get the thing started, particularly first time of the day.
As far as air/gas mixtures, the outside adjustment is the high speed here at 35' above sea level I go out to about four turns and adjust from there. If it quits it is too lean, keep enriching till it doesn't quit. If you can do 90 degree turns and not bounce your not at best speed. I run about half throttle and rev from there but no low idle. This works fine, there is no reason to go any slower. The hard to reach low idle or horizontal adjustment is tougher. I got max speed and consistency, perfection is for others. Once a standard is set where current settings are working and understood then I think adjusting the idle an 1/8 or so at a time till the idle is low enough to your taste is possible but even the direction must be tested.
If you wreck your boat and want to sell what is left I may be interested, spare parts are sometimes hard to get. We race regularly and run into each other!
