Have two 4 star 40s. Love them both. One has a OS 46FX and one has a Thunder Tiger 40 Pro. Both are very nimble and have plenty of power. You can easily up the power and get even more performance but I think you will be very happy transitioning from a trainer to a 40-46 powered low wing intermediate plane.

IMO going way over powered on this airframe is not the best use of your finances. Get a solid 40-46 and have fun. It will still be plenty fast.

The four star will carry you for a good long time. It can do lots of aerobatics but still slows down for really easy landings. Great 2nd plane wehn your are proficient with that Alpha.
