Default RE: HOME DEPOT HOBBY STORE...

Hi all!Just makes my mouth water hearing about goodies like that. The Homelite 25cc base model trimmer sells for $99CDN. here in Canada at Home Depot and the Homelite 33cc chainsaw sells for around $170-$200CDN.The chainsaw seems to be priced a tad bit higher here in Canada than it is in the US.Don't know why that is.With the conversion difference,it should be selling for a lot less than what it is.The weed wacker seems to be on par with what you guy's in the states are picking them up for.However,$49US for a Homie 25 is dam good pricing.Probably the best I've ever heard of actually.

If your looking to do a engine conversion in the Homelite line, look for a 30cc engine as they are beefier(larger connecting rod and bearings for one) and turn the same size prop as a 25cc does about 1000 r.p.m faster according to the guy's here in this forum.Beleive it or not but the Homelite 30cc is prsently being manufactured for use in the new Ryobi model number CS-30 grass trimmer.Yup!I said Ryobi.Couldn't beleive it myself when I seen this Ryobi trimmer hanging from a hook on the end aisle display at the local Home Depot.Just had to take it down and study it up closer for its convertability rating. There I was expecting to find the typical reed valve Ryobi type engine but I was wondering why Ryobi would bother to make a 30cc when they already had a 31cc.HMM!!Thats when it hit me that I was looking at the exact same 30cc engine that is sitting down stairs in my work shop right now.Hot diggity dog!A new supply of 30cc Homies.Kind of pricey though at the $179CDN. asking price.Darn near double the price of the base 25cc weed eater.Maybe the price will drop over time.Chances are,you guy's in the states will find them for quite a bit less.I'd be curious to find out what this Ryobi CS-30 goes for in the US.All the best gents!
