Default O.S. 46LA vs 46FX. For Trainer & 2nd.plane

Hi

Gonna get a trainer soon, humble GP PT-40. It should fly nicely with a 46LA, it says, so i guess thats what im getting. But, if i ever get a second plane (maybe a 3dcapable biplane or some low-wing craft), will the LA be ok for that too? I know the LA series is the low-end/budget kinda thing over at O.S, and that im better off investing in an FX (even if it cost like 50% more).

But wont a 46FX be TOO MUCH for a simple .40 trainer and make it too fast/hard to fly for a beginner? Also, it dont seem very economical in terms of fuel. And there is limited fuelspace onboard the trainer (it says 8oz tank recommended).

Perhaps someone know another good engine brand that delivers 40/46-engines that are similar to the 46FX in terms of power, but cost less?
