I was in the same position last year and went with the FX. I am glad I did because I am now using it in my Great Planes Super Sportster 40. However, there is one downside to using this engine. Mine seems to be much louder than the LA's in my club. We have a low 80db noise limit at my club and the FX is so far failing by 3db's! The LA's in the club have all passed the test. Mine is the only FX.

Remember, 80db is a very low noise limit so this might not even be a concern for you.

p.s. the FX has proven to be VERY reliable, easy to start, and easy to set up in my experience.
