Default RE: Super Flying Models Eindecker

OK Guys here is what happened.[:-]

Maiden flight of the Eindecker this morning, OH YEH! [:-] First I ended up using an OS .46fx, it's a long story. Next I head down the runway funny, the tail wheel is tracking the plane into a right turn. I will compensate, wait , who! OK turn around and make another try at it. Easy on that rudder, oh my God this thing is sensitive, power on and I'm off. I am into cardiac problems now. You know how these magazine story's go, a click up and a click right and its flying? Not so for me, neutral stick produced a dive for terra firma, and almost a snap to the right. I am now desperatly trimming, better, better, ok now she is flying. A few more and the Eindecker is hands off stable. [X(]
So it flys around great, rolls are trainer slow, rudder more than I thought it would, elevator almost non-existent. Maybe I am nose heavy. I am balanced a little forward of recomended CG.
Finally time to land, and I remember, someone said in this thread, landing was not pretty. They were right!!! power off approaching, nose is headed for the ground, power back on, wheels touch, plane launches for the clouds, power off, full up elevator, BOINK,BOINK,BOINK. She's down in one piece. GOD I love realxing and flying my models.
Anyway plane looks cool, fly.s good, is very trainer like and a little mushy on the controls. Overall I like it. Need to fix tail wheel for tracking straight down the runway, and move the CG back, hope this will help the landing's. I am definatly going to have to get a small four stroker, this plane cry's for it.[8D]
