Default RE: O.S. 46LA vs 46FX. For Trainer & 2nd.plane

I have a 40LA in my trainer and a 46LA in my 4*40.
It's real nice having two planes - the 4* seems to crash a little more often then the trainer.
Just drag out the trainer during repairs and keep in practice.
I have the 46FX waiting for the third plane - World Models T34.

The 46FX/AX is a lot of motor for a second plane. I had trouble with the 46LA and the prescribed 11x6 prop.
I put a 11x4 on and it tamed down real nice. Don't be in a hurry to get the high speed stuff - keep it simple and gets lots of practice.
Yes you can control it with the throttle - but will you? Brand new Porsche Carrera - how long before you can't control yourself and punch it?

You've got lots of engines in your future if you don't get discouraged from spending to much time fixing and not enough time flying. The 40LA and 46LA have plenty of power plenty other uses in the future - light little SPAD - over power a 35 size plane - new trainer for your son/little sibling - scale pre WWII model. If you're always buying for the future your first vehicle will be a Ford F350 and your first house will be 4500 Square feet. Buy what is reasonable for the job it is intended and the budget at hand.
