I've owned both, plus a MECOA .46 Tomcat & TT.46 Pro. I now have 5 TT.46 Pro engines & I no longer own the .46 LA. Don't bother with the MECOA -- it's OK, but the price is close enough to the Thunder Tiger that there is no contest. The FX is a great engine -- it & the Thunder Tiger are dead even in power, quality & user friendliness, but the TT is usefully cheaper.

The .46 LA will start & run well, but it is gutless in comparison to the .46 FX or TT.46 Pro & it is unlikely to meet your future needs.

If price is an issue, the TT .42 GP is as powerfull & a bit cheaper than the .46 LA.
