RE: RV-4 or Ultra Sport 40+
I have an RV-4 and it is definitely different trying to land using the flaps. The flaps were part of the reason that I purchased this plane. I'm building a warbird so I also wanted to get used to the flaps. If nothing else, you will at least get the feel for using the flap knob. It's a fun flying plane and I like the looks. It's my third plane as well. You can easily fit a 4 stroke in the huge cowl. The ABS parts that come in the kit are not the greatest, but I made them work. There are fiberglas parts available. If you search on RV-4 you should be able to find the thread that gives the web address.
I can't speak to the Ultra Sport as I haven't seen one in person.
