Default RE: Best starter jet?

Shane,
If you have a p120 then go with a hotspot or a rookie, yes it is too much power for the plane but pull it back to 17/18 # of thrust and it will be a good performing trainer. When you are more comfortable with it then push it up to 20-22# of thrust and it will become a rocket. I fly mine with a RAM1000 at about 22# of thrust and it flys great. Gets off in about 200 - 250 feet, hi speed fly bys are awesome, vertical for days, and extra power for those go-arounds when you need too.

If this is your first turbine I would not go with the eurosport as their are just way to many mods that have to be made to the airplane from the factory, plus it seems that to get max performance out of the plane everyone is going with a P160 in them.

You can also consider the PCM DV8R, it is big, can fly fast and land at a crawl. It is a relatively inexpensive plane but requires building unlike the composite arf line of jets. I have also heard of some people getting into turbines using the skymaster f15, not sure how it flys and have never seen one fly but those that have them say they are a very docile airplane.
