Default RE: For all you aeronautical engineers

Hey Volkan,

This may seem corny, but as a kid I always wanted to be an astronaut. I since learned that I don't have the focus to dedicate my life to it, and thats what it takes.

Anyway, I was dead set on becoming and aeronautical engineer. Luckily my highschool english teacher made us all do a research paper on the field we wanted to persue. I found at the time (1995) there were very litte jobs available in this field. Mostly due to the fact that most of the airlines were flying the same ole planes and was not any demand for more engineers.

Things may be different now, and my research was based on the US.

Anyway, I decided to go for mechanical engineering instead. I discovered that no matter what field you are in employers want experience. It kinda sucks. I figured I would graduate college and have a job withing a week. WRONG! I sent resumes, emails, went door to door for 9 months before I found a job.

If you have your heart set on it, I'd say go for it. Try to get an internship or co-op in college, this really helps on the experience.

Good Luck,

Wings
