A glow airplane is a gas powered airplane, but it runs on a special type of fuel called glow fuel. This fuel is a mixture of oil and nitromethane and oil. A trainer airplane is a must for any beginner pilot. If you are not into building, then you can purchase the RTF(ready to fly) Superstar .40 from Hobbico which comes with almost everything that you need to begin flying with. The plane that I started with was the ARF(almost ready to fly) solo series from Hangar 9. There are many good trainer planes out there, so just look through Tower Hobbies and you will find many more. One last recommendation is to join a club so they can teach you how to fly so you will not have to risk losing it.
