Default RE: New Build-GP Giles

Hi,

Nice Job!

Mine too came about 7lbs and actually a bit over. Is that a fibreglass cowl? Maybe I should get one of those. I also have a OS 91 surpass which along with the stock cowl makes it really nose heavy.

I had my rudder servo in the tail and a 800mah battery pack shuffed beneath the tail right at the end to balance!

I found that with an APC 15x6 it will produce enough thrust to hover and just pull out. 14x6 wasn't quite enough. I tached the 15x6 at 8800rpm max and flew at 8600.

The performance change in the prop really surprised me. I normally hold full up elevator when taxiing and ease up just before the plane lift off. With the new prop, take off is much short and it leaped to the air in less than half the distance. And with full elevator it snapped hard to the right a few feet off the ground [X(][X(][X(] . luckily did recovered with full left rudder. That's the closest KE I'll do!

Bill.
