Exactly the same for charging: 1000 ma (note ma, not mah!) charge rate for 1 hour = 1000mah stored charge, assuming the battery capacity is great enough to store that much charge. 1000 ma current for two hours into a 3000 mah battery means 2000 mah of stored charge, or the battery is 2/3 rds charged. This assumes an ideal battery, no losses to heat, which always occurs. Easiest way to say for both is "milliamps of current multiplied by the time it flows, measured in hours".
