Any well done solder joint is strong, main points is make sure the metal is clean so use fine sandpaper or emerycloth or steelwool to clean the metal good, if you havn't done this before practice with scraps first.

Last tip: In my experience the very tip of the flame is the hottest part so just use the tip it will save gas a heat up quicker.
