Default RE: Castor oil - A final word?

ORIGINAL: jaka

Klotz benol ...isn't that just Castor oil .....or Klotz name for it......same as Castrol M??!!.
Or do you say that Castrol M is "crappy" and Klotz is better.......Think Castrol M has been used much in international racing...wouldn't they know beter than using such "crappy" oil.
Castrol M surely will give black carbon deposites in all engines I have seen.....both my own pylonracing engines and all sport engines I have.

ok, maybe i shouldn't have said "crappy". i have no experience with castrol M , just benol and other unidentfied castors. with benol i get no nasty carbon, just some light varnish on the piston crown and around the exhaust ports after hours and hours of running. and like i said, my engines run very cool even when i push them very hard. same is true in my gas engines (saws and planes). i'm betting that running a castor/synth mix results in more carbon because of the higher temps...
