Default 46 la vibrations

Live twice,

I too have a 46 la and had it on my kadet. I had loud vibration problems in certain rpm ranges (not all). at about 1/8 to 1/4 throttle it was pretty loud, but when I put it at low idle it would quit and go to full throttle it would quit. Some guys at the club indicated that this is an annoying property of the la motors and I can't understand why yours just started doing it (mine always did it), unless yours is getting broken in and that's affecting it. How many tanks have you run through it?

BTW, I no longer have the la on my plane, my instructor sold me a 46 fx he had for a really good price. Haven't flown it yet, but man it runs much smoother/quieter and I can definitely hear that it has much more on the top end. We didn't do the engine swap for the vibration, we were having issues with multiple dead stick landings and couldn't figure out why (and seeing that I'm learning myself, I didn't want to spend what precious little time I have with my instructor to debug my engine). Maybe as I get more experience with the hobby I'll get the LA back down and goof with it.
