The FX cyl liner peeling problem was real enough, but it was solved long ago. Any of the engines I noted in my pervious post will work beautifully, AX included. However, unlike the FX & others, the AX will be vulnerable to head gasket leaking, back-plate warping & leaking, plus needle-valve assembly breakage -- just like the OS LA series of engines that use the same technology. OS had to cut costs to market a competitive .46 (the FX is/was too expensive) so they "borrowed" the cost reduction methods employed in the LA series.
