I had a 46 LA and it was a sweet little engine. Flew an overweight pig of a trainer quite nicely. Needed a lot of room to take off, but once in the air it flew along at a nice clip. RELIABLE...you bet, affordable...uh huh. Not a bad engine paired up with the right airframe. Most people tend to over power their planes anyway I think.

As far as BAD engines go...I haven't got one yet, but I hear MDS are notorious for airleaks. Dunno!
