Venture 30 clutch problems
I am back on about clutch rattle and grabbing at idle on my JR Venture 30 CP. I would be grateful if there was somebody with this model that could check their clutch bell for any sideways movement. Mine does seem to pivot from the mounting bearings in the moulded plastic frame (which I assume is to allow for some misalignment) and the bell does have a small amount of sideways movement around the clutch, it is this movement that allows the clutch bell (at idle) to occasionally vibrate and drag on the clutch which causes the drive gears to chatter.
When the clutch is fully engaged, everything runs very smoothly.
I have checked an older model JR 30 and its clutch bell was quite rigid, but it did have a different chassis and bearing support for the clutch bell shaft.
I would like to find out if what I have is normal for this model, or whether I should explore further by removing the clutch bell and bearings to see if something was assembled incorrectly.
Thanks.
