A gas pattern design is available today that meets your requirements. The designed is called the L'Essence. RCM published a construction article in May 2003.

Do a search on RCU for L'Essence to find threads discussing this design.

I saw this design fly at the 2002 NATS in Masters. It was powered by a RCS 180 with ignition and appeared to be a capable competitive design that met all the current constraints i.e. size, weight, sound.
