How to use a Radio Shack adapter for the game commander
1. Ok guys, first off you need to install AFP, then the expansion pack, then install the patch last.
If you already have AFP and the expansion pack installed then you need to uninstall AFP first in add or remove programs, then uninstall the expansion pack. After you did that you need to go to your c drive, then program files, then right click on Ipacs and delete it. Then go through step 1 listed above.
2. Now you need to put the radio shack adapter in your computer with the game commander hooked up to it. Now make sure you put the adapter to joystick A.
3. Once that’s done you need to click on start, control panel, game controllers. Then you should see in controllers, USB ADAPTOR, the stats should say OK. Now you need to click on properties, then click on the settings tab and click calibrate. Now you have to go in order by doing what it says but you have to go in order first with the throttle, then elevator, then the rudder. Next, this is the most important; click on reset to default.
4. Now start up Aerofly Professional, if you don't like your resolution you can go to options and set it to what you like and the resolution that can best fit on your monitor, or laptop screen like mine. Now go to controllers, then highlight joystick and make sure its on aircraft 1, (in the little bubble.) Then go to properties and move the sticks, make sure all of them move. Now line up the columns with the correct surfaces, (I put throttle/collective pitch on channel 2, elevator/cyclic pitch on channel 7, rudder/tailrotor channel 6, and aileron/roll on channel 1. Now click ok and go to calibrate on the main menu of AFP highlight joystick and click properties make sure that all of the bars are centered. Then click on calibrate, follow the instructions, then click ok.
5. Now click on fly and hopefully you will be flying high with your game commander.
