Default RE: Venture 30 clutch problems

Mike,

I have run into the same problem with my Venture 30. The starter shaft and hex adapter would always loosen up just enough to let the clutch bell rattle around but because of the design, the the Venture would still start. I corrected the problem by using a Drummel Tool and ground a small dimple where the set screw should set. You should see some marking where the set screw sits in the flat on the starting shaft. If you can, grind a point on the set screw to fit into the dimple or buy a new one with a point on it. Don't forget to use LockTite. Because that one little set screw holds the whole assembly together you need to make sure that the screw has some bite. The point and dimple method should do just that. Let me know how it works out for you.

Regards,

Rich
