I have a RCM Cloud Dancer 60 and I built a RCM Ultra Sport 60 with retracts. I would highly recommend that you use 1/8” ply for the two ribs that the retract unit is attached to.
The biggest trick is getting the right cut profile for the wheel wells, after that to construct the wheel well you can use a pop can, 1/64 ply rolled up, card board tube exc………. Or you can go with out a wheel well and double up the sheeting around the opening and give a light spray of clear coat in that area for protection against oils and water.
