The rudder shoudl go after the propellor to get the benefits of prop wash. If its before the propellor the water that it deflects will be straightened by going through the proppellor.

Also for that pushrod i used zee bends at each end and a kink in the middle to adjust trim. For the pushrod i used the handle from a chinese food container.
