I've had good luck with CA hinges and see no problem using them on this plane. I did cut them at 1" square since you don't need as many as you would get cutting them the recomended 3/4". I also use an old soldering iron to open up the Monocote around the hinge slot instead of cutting it out like the instructions show, very easy and fast.
