Mixing a channel to itself 0% will have 0 effect. You need to mix ch 5 to ch 5 -100% as described in our FAQ at www.futabarc.com

Please note that your friend's elevator trim will only trim the elevator servo! and will not trim the second servo. The 6X is a very entry level computer radio and is not designed for this type of setup.
