I do understand your example of hte manual not telling you specifically how to do that example. please see the 9C manual addendum pages to see how the newer style US only manuals work, with specific examples covered step by step.

...AND, you've pointed out a flaw in the manual i've never caught before...
under PARA on page 40 it says... "there are 5 submenus....To access these menus, you press the CURSOR key to step through the sequence.

HOWEVER, the instruction for this partiuclar feature skips the fact that you land on PARA and then cursor over to MOD. THANKS! I will get an addendum done for this problem immediately and have Japan notified for future manuals prints!!!

To do so properly, go to para menu, cursor over to MOD, if it is P that means PPM (FM), press the + key to go to C, then turn TX off and on again and you're in PCM. Vice versa to go to PPM from PCM.
