Default The bendy-tip prop.

I hear good and bad about them. The good part is that they pull hard, but the bad part is that they are loud props. I'm sure that some are going to disagree, but that is ok. I don't run the bendy-tip prop, as Bob Sadler calls it. I like my wood. My 3W 28x10 pulls REALLY hard on my new 3W 100 Cactus SS. I'm only turning 6k. I don't need my engine to rip that prop at HALF throttle, like it would if I was running a 26x10, anything else, except for maybe a Carbon Fibre. Even the MenzS 27x10 howls at 3/4 throttle. A local in the club has the OLD 100 in a AW Edge 540, and it howls and it has VERY loud exhaust.

Frank Noll's DA 100 pulls REALLY hard with a 26x10 bendy-tip, but you suffer the consequence of it being annoyingly loud at full throttle. Sure, the DA has top end, but top end does nothing for you in a hover at 1/2 throttle or less. To where the 3W has more lower end grunt and less top end. BIG DEAL!!! If I wanted a speedster, I'd go back to racing. I'm out of racing now, and on to better things, like IMAC and IMAA flying events.

I feel a props performance is dependant upon an engines performance. So, the better the prop, the better the engine will perform. Or vise versa. Either way is a win win.

Good Luck. Bendy-tip props are hard to repair if you damage one, wood is easy. You get a little split, nick, ding, get the thin CyA out, hold it together, and wick it. Then rebalance it. Done!!

Just my opinion, and thats all.

Good Lcuk!!
