OK can we get back to the point.

Turning the Idle screw in so the wheels spin on the box but not on the ground is BAD. You are riding the clutch, NOT GOOD. Wind the screw in till the wheels spin then back it off 1/4 turn so they stop and you have a good tick over. Look down the intake and there should be a 1mm ish gap. If it's any bigger your too rich, smaller your running lean (also a sign of an air leak), Also I bet you have no smoke when idling, but loads when going fast. Let us know if our suspisions are correct.
