RE: Rich Fong's air bubble solution
Success !! Having COMPLETELY purged the sack in the UAT using the procedure I described 4 days ago (vertical UAT and using the engine fuel pump to clear any air WITHOUT running the engine) I ran the RAM 500 and had four completely succesful flights with the StarJet today. Clearly the key to success with this device is proper purging, so if you are having problems with the UAT give my purging procedure (essentially the same as Tom Antflinger's) a try, it works and without the frustration of running the engine with, possibly, several flameouts whilst the air is being purged. Time for BVM to review the instruction sheet ?
The Starjet /RAM 500 combination impressed evryone who saw it fly today, incredible acceleration and vertical performance combined with superb low speed handling, it was a delight to fly.
