Being a Contractor I often measure conduit runs by stepping them off so I am pretty confident that my steps equal around 3'.

Congratulations on the maiden, I know you are glad to get it behind you. What was the difference between ECU unplugged and ECU plugged in? With the engine running you are likely getting noise from the pump and not ECU. If the ECU was on but engine not running the only difference is the pump.
