RE: C-130 updates
got a couple more flights on my gun ship Herk this evening. Weather was perfect. After the flight, I was taxiing back to the pit area, and this car drove in to the flying field, and a man and his wife got out and watched while my son and I were doing a Tach check on the engines at various throttle settings. When I shut the engines down, he all smiles and said, "Man, I'm glad I got to see that fly. We were coming down the interstate and looke up and saw this C-130, and I had to find out where it was!" Our runway is about 1000' West of Interstate 81 and he saw it from his car. Always makes you feel good when someone notices your particular plane!! (but then, mine was the only one flying, too!)
I never realized how much different 4 engines would sound as opposed to 2. What a buzz!
(how big would a "Spruce Goose" have to be to accomodate 8 .25's?????????????)
