RE: Ace Simple Ultimate Power
I built my ACE Simple Ultimate with 1/32" sheeted wings and originally powered it with a Norvel .15 AME. It wasn't the right combo. The Norvel wanted to be in something sleek, fast and light - none of the attributes which the ACE Ultimate posses. I replaced it with an OS .25FP which could swing a larger prop at lower RPM's. I flew that thing day in and day out for a few years. It was stepped on, fell off of the table and landed inverted on the top wing numerous times and still flew great, even in a gale. One day during a moment of temporary insanity I gave it away with the intention of building a lighter one for a .15, but I haven't got around to it yet. I guess that's two things I need to add to my list: 1. Build another ACE Ultimate 2. Find something suitable for a Norvel .15 AME.
Andrew,
I wouldn't be surprised if the new engine was a .25AX, but I sure hope not. I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope it's an .02 or an .03!
