I'm heading home in a few minutes to final sand mine and get it ready for covering. I researched this plane extensively and the majority of people say it can do 3D very well. Most of them agree with krazyrc that it lacks on the elevators and harriers but I don't recall anyone trying to reflex the 2 wing servos on the elevator and compensate for the wobbling(sp). That's basically my mission with building this kit I wanna make it do harriers I'm building mine with a saito 91. I think the OS will be really overweight for it. (Saito 91= 520gr OS 91= 655gr per tower and horizon)
I know a lot of people had success with it by using the 72 saito also.
Other than the 2 servo wing(HS-225s) I also reinforced the gear plate a bit with some triangle stock. Hope it will hold like this cause everyone agrees that this is a weak area. I'll be using HS-605s for the rudder and elevator which I beveled a bit more to make sure that throw will not be an issue.
Assembling the 3 piece cowl was a pain on my neck and after cutting and painting it ended up 4,1/4oz. I think that is a lot for a 40 size cowl....any thoughts on that anybody? I've put an order already for a glass cowl that I will use after I have a few flights on it I'm trying hard to keep it light but this being my 3rd plane overall and the 1st kit I don't really know how it's coming until I weight it when it's done.
I'm hoping to finish it soon so I can finally fly it. This kit building business is really time consuming
