Default RE: Which prop for EStarter?

I just "graduated" from my estarter a little while back and am moving on to bigger and better things. Here's what I found on my setup. I had a 350C with C gearing. I personally liked the 10x6 prop (w 6-8nimh or a 2 cell lipo) even though it was a little slower on top speed it had alot more torque, which came in handy on those hairy "learning" mistakes. The 10x8 does work fine but was a little faster had more "in-flight" thrust but alot less torque, to me anways. I didn't really like the 9x7 much at all seemed to make the plane too fast for someone learning, but after flying for a while I became ok with it, however I'd still say it was my least favorite prop.....

Something really fun (but it will burn your motor up[&o]) is an 11x4.. with a 3 cell pack. I had an esc that could handle it, so near the end of my time with my estart (before I was going to purchase something else) I stripped the landing gear off (landed with belly flops in high grass), lightened it everyway imaginable, slapped the 3 cell in and had a blast, I also "clipped" the wings so it was alot less stable. I could almost hover it [:-] and could do consecutive loops.. after adding "D" gearing and a 12x6 prop I could hover for short times before it would fall out.. But again Do NONE of this until after you've mastered flying it, are ready to move on, and don't mind burning up a motor and hacking your plane up.

Cheers and happy flying,
