Hi Roger,
Sorry to jump into this thread from outta nowhere but I've been told by an engineer that stainless-steel bearings are actually quite soft, you should really look at ceramic bearings for long life. Dunno how true this is as it's only one opinion, but you may want to research it a little before all that hard work
