VQ P-61 flown again
This has been one of those weekends that don’t come around very often.
Not only did I get my glider up to speck and beyond, also found a couple of boomers that while spinning it down to get it out it still kept climbing. That same day I got to fly a 46% Ultimate and it is the (bar none) best plane that I have flown. There is really now way to explain it better.
Today I got to fly the VQ P-61 Prototype. For an 89” twin it followed the sticks very well and had no bad habits even in a stall test.
I am looking forward to it being ready for sale.
BTW Twinman had the opportunity to test the engine out and then turn to base and final. He said that it was a non-event. It was an unplanned so it was a good indication of the stability of the bird. We did hear him slow the engine and drop the nose, then get back into the throttle before turning to base leg. Throttle was a little hot but no problems with the landing (I was glad as my turn to fly was after that flight.) TM are you breathing yet and has your heart slowed also.
