H9 CAP 232 1.20 wing alignment problem
I did have to increase the thickness of the center rib. I made a new one from 1/4 ply that gave me a 1/4 of clearance between the root rib and the fuse on each side. This extra width caused me to enlarge the holes in the former that the blocks for the dowels get epoxied behind. I am planning on making a single piece for this purpose as it will strengthen that former once it is "sistered" to the back of that former... I also had to enlarge the holes for the lite-ply plate that is epoxied to the front of the wing across the joint. When I epoxied the wing halves together the middle of the extra rib was aligned with the middle of the hardwood joiner...
I will measure the distance between the dowels and the wing center when I get home tonight, but I am pretty sure they are nearly equal... I will also check how square the former that the dowels go into is with the sides of the fuse. Maybe its off...
I am worried that the in my quest for getting equal measurements I am going to mount the wing at an angle to the fuse...
