The Firebird series are pretty poor flyers, and going from that to a Megatech plane is a step down. []

Do yourself a huge favor and take it back to where you bought it, then find one of the local clubs and spend a nice weekend afternoon hanging out talking to people. There's a real good chance that someone will offer to take you up on a Budy Box for a flight on a glow trainer.
