it won't break but will resulting in a broken chassis.
you get some ca glue (the watery one) and you put small blob on the edge and wait for it to slide down the side of the chassis. you repeat this till the whole chassis edge has been done.
well you just make the slots for the batteries smother by sanding the edges down a little so it's smooth and when done just blow of the fiber dust. and no it won't touch the ground. maybe once a meeting it might just kiss the gruond but nooting major .
