As Mikey said, just wet the outside. If it's really still too firm then try spraying with ammonia too, that'll definitely allow it to bend.

And re the Carbon canopy, or heavilyt tinted\painted ones, I have to say that I hate them. They just look so totally crap and false. Always seems to me that people who fit tinted or CC's are either crap builders or can't be bothered to even do a basic cockpit. A sign of laziness or incompetence as far as I'm concerned.

Course in Kane's case seems it's just another way to be flash and spend some more (of his Dad's) money.
