Frozen, you're wrong, ABS is a Styrene, PVC is a Vinyl, both are different

ABS is indeed softer and offers higher traction/higher wear

Colour is irrelevant! - I use grey ABS, I've worked with blue ABS and seen the white ABS, PVC can be black, red, or other colour, the colour doesn't tell you what it is - the printing on it does though
