Nice engine! Though I don't know if the pictures you provided are appropriate due to the engine being "naked" ...WOOHOO!!
You know, I noticed something about the JP engines: they have a small bit of epoxy on the front part of the crank (the front part meaning the side that is facing the front bearing). From my observation, the epoxy is on a slant and in functional terms, should provide better fuel flow and much smoother rpm transitions!
Hey oldchopdoc, whatever floats your boat, I say go for it. I guess everyone has their own preference about engines. I usually prefer the underdog engines and just play around with gear ratioes. I mean, companies make extra gears for their buggies for a reason, right? Why not take advantage of that! Plus it's much more fun trying to unlock the full potential of an engine at variable ratioes!
