Default 3D Extra

To clarify, someone told chevy13 that the Great planes 40 size Extra is not a 3D plane. To some extent i think that is true because the proportions of the control surfaces are relatively low.

For the GP40 EX: aielerons are 1 inch with a mean cord around 10.5 inch roughly 10% elevator - stab --- 30% rudder - vertical roughly 30%

For 1/4 scale H9 edge. you have 3 inch aielerons on a mean cord wing of 12 inches or 25% elevator proportions are near 50% and rudder around 70%

Many 3D ers are using control surface proportions even higer than these.

Anyway, i haven't been flying it a lot, but i have TR'ed my GP40 extra and had a ton of fun with it in spite of its smaller control surfaces. I use the Saito 100, MA 14X6. It weighs in at 6.7 pounds.
