Wow... I'd just like to correct some statements here before someone goes off spreading such "info"

people have explained it, but my way

Example: Rally car drivers know that it takes to long to get around a courner the touring car way (brake, turn, accelerate) so instead, they drift.
rally drivers "drift" because of the need to rotate the car with limited traction. or... are you implying that rally drivers are just smarter than say... F1 drivers??
like in a drag- the slower the reaction, the bigger the time.
Normally a reported 1/4 mile time does not factor R/T.
to do this you have to slide so much that your car is paralel to the exit straight. normal rc car drivers may use the out-in-out tecnique while drifters will use anything more inwards like an in-in-in sorta thing or middle-middle-in. there are many different ways.
best line is still out-in-out. early/ late apex changes slightly.... but the ideal lines are very similar. a "good" rc drifter should be able to closely follow the ideal line.
4)its faster that normal racing
slower. much... much slower....
