Default RE: vectorflight extra300 or edge540

I have the VF Extra - there are a couple of mods that are necessary - which I expect you heard from them, but in case not - make sure to attach tailplane braces to beef up support of the horizontal stab - I made mine up from 2-56 wire and installed a hard point at the trailing edge and in the bottom of the fuse near the tailwheel point. you need to beef up the area where the wing mounting is to keep the plywood plate from straining - I used 1/4 balsa to fill in around the blind nuts.
I also beefed up the firewall with another 1/4 ply doubler from the inside - I found the ply firewall a bit soft.
I sealed the aileron gap with monokote, used the supplied hinges, tossed the included landing gear for a fibreglass gear, and beefed up the tailwheel area.

I have an ASP 91 14x8 masterairscrew prop, for power with dubro softmounts, Bisson Pitts muffler, JR 783 with JR 527 servos. and have about a hundred or so flights so far. had an ASP 108 - but didn't make much difference power wise

you're right about power management on landing - it wants to be flown in under power

love the plane - even had an offer to buy the other day at the field - imagine[:-]

The cowl and belly pan are kinda crappy aren't they?[:'(]
