Default JR Venture 30 - Help me put together the "Perfect Trainer"

Sorry Planelazy, I have to disagree with you on the HH gyro.

Shawn first you need the OS 32SXH... the H is important, you shouldn't use an airplane engine in this even if you can make it work with muffler adapters, etc.

You also do want a heading hold gyro. It will make learning to hover much easier and will force you to learn to steer the tail through turns instead of just letting it weather-vane. After you learn to steer the tail you will have automatically learned to correct tail position in a hover without the gyro in heading hold. I learned this way and can fly no brainer in and out of heading hold.

The Futaba GY401 & 9253 mentioned is the best bang for the buck... about $200 mail order and around $250 LHS.

A Century Speed Torpedo is a great muffler for the price... around $35.

I wouldn't go expensive on the cyclic servos.... I used Hitec HS425-BBs at about $15 each and it flies great. Nothing too expensive but do make sure you get DUAL ball bearing servos. Also, make sure your throttle servo is at least as fast, or preferably faster than, your cyclic servos... and the cyclics should all be the the same speed.
