Default Zig Zag racer?

There is no hop up path for these without replacing everything including the electronics. If you go with a hotter motor or more cells you will burn up the electronics as the ESC is of limited capacity. The boat is built around the electronics from the Firebird XL and you would have to replace everything when you smoke the ESC since it is a combined unit consisting of the receiver, servo and ESC all in one.

Otherwise you will have a hard time finding a better value than the ZZ for a good performing pool boat. $79 with FM radio is darn hard to beat.

Exactly!

We were wanting to up the hp, but I knew the ESC would be in jeopardy. We also figured that the electronics were all-n-1. It's the hull design that makes you wanna do even more with the power. We considered going with just a slightly faster motor and A sized batteries an see if the Electronic board could take it. Another thing to consider is motor heat. A hotter motor will be a hotter motor. There is no way to dissipate the heat from the motor in a ZZ. A high performance speed 400 could burn out or possibly melt the hull where it mounts. Regardless of upgraded ESC, that is a factor that must be taken into consideration.

My plans.
I have a Zagi that I don't fly. I may strip the Jeti ESC and motor from it. Then I'll get a micro servo and Novak XXL receiver. The motor in my Zagi is just a bit hotter than the stock motor. I don't know how hot it will get. I will probably do a bench test before going through with the install.

Video!
I have it. I'll get it posted next week.

P.S. I only paid $69 +sh.
