Homero, why don't you get your friend to start the engine on the plane and see how it runs? Flying it might even be better. You could make a better decision that way.
Although I fly one with a green case, there is no way that I would know all ot the development history or modifications to the older ones. When I bought mine it was already 6 years old and had never been run by the original owner. I have over 60 flights on mine. The only problem with mine was that the Hall effect sensor on the CH Ignition went bad and I replaced it. Otherwise, no trouble at all.
